For Health Clinician's & Support Professionals

A structured online AOD program for your clients, patients, or residents

The Wagon is a 10-module, self-paced psychoeducational program designed to support individuals navigating changes to their alcohol or other drug use.

Our program serves as a valuable resource for clinicians and residential services.

Whether used as a community-based support tool, a court-friendly educational resource, or a post-rehab maintenance plan, The Wagon provides the CBT and ACT-based framework necessary for sustainable habit change.

Evidence-Based AOD Education & Skills Training

The Wagon is a structured online program that clients work through in their own time. It is:

  • A 10-module, self-paced program delivered via short videos and guided exercises.

  • Grounded in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), relapse-prevention and related evidence-informed approaches.

  • Focused on education, skills and self-reflection, rather than therapy or counselling.

  • Suitable for people who are already contemplating change, actively changing, or maintaining progress.

The Wagon is not a crisis service and does not provide individual counselling, medical management or emergency support.

How You Might Use The Wagon

AOD, Rehab & Community Support Services

For AOD, rehab and community services, The Wagon may be helpful:

  • As part of aftercare/step-down following residential rehab or withdrawal.

  • As a structured adjunct alongside individual counselling or case management.

  • As a resource for clients who have already made changes and want help to consolidate progress and manage risk situations.

GPs, Allied Health & Primary Care Practitioners

For GPs and allied health practitioners, The Wagon may be helpful:

  • For patients who do not have easy access to local AOD or psychology services (e.g. rural or remote areas).

  • As a structured option between brief interventions in primary care and more intensive specialist treatment.

  • As part of a relapse-prevention/maintenance plan after other episodes of care.

Referral Process and Integration

  1. You identify a suitable person.

Someone who is thinking about change, actively changing, or wanting support to maintain progress, and who is not in acute crisis.

  2. You introduce The Wagon

You might briefly explain that it is a 10-module, self-paced online program focused on education and skills, and share the enrolment link.

  3. They enrol and work through modules

Participants watch short videos, complete optional exercises and handouts, and can pause and revisit material as needed.

  4. You remain the primary clinician

Any clinical monitoring, risk assessment and treatment planning remain with you or your service. The Wagon is an additional structured resource, not a clinical service.

  5. Optional: program-level feedback

Where appropriate, services can receive simple, de-identified feedback about overall engagement (e.g. modules started/completed across a group), rather than individual clinical information.

Professional Standards and Practice Integration
